One of the goals of the Colorado Dulcimer Festival is to promote a vibrant and growing community of Dulcimer players and enthusiasts, including those for whom the Festival’s cost is a challenge. Festival organizers may be able to waive a portion of the registration fee for applicants who qualify. To apply for a partial fee waiver, you need not be an accomplished musician; financial need and dedication to learning to play your Dulcimer are the only requirements.
To request a partial fee waiver, please contact us by email at ColoDulciFestInfo@gmail.com Provide your name, address, phone number and email, and a brief explanation of why you should be considered. We are especially interested to know:
- Why financial assistance is needed:
Information you provide can address income, occupation, other personal or household budgeting considerations, the size of the family, other family members you support, family members who support you, or other relevant information. Please note that participants aged 14 and younger must be accompanied at the Festival by an adult. The accompanying adult need not pay the registration fee unless she/he will be taking classes, but must be prepared to pay for lodging, food, transportation and any incidental expenses. - Desire to come to the Festival:
In a paragraph or two, describe your musical interests and background, and why you want to participate in the Festival. Please let us know if you’ve attended this Festival or other dulcimer or music festivals in the past.
If the applicant is age 14 or younger, please provide a letter of recommendation from the applicant’s music teacher or an adult outside of the family who is familiar with the applicant’s musical background and interest.
All requests for partial registration waivers must be received by April 6, 2024. Applicants will be notified by email no later than April 20, 2024 so that those receiving assistance have enough time to register and make lodging and travel plans.
