Welcome to the CDF’s Featured Artist page. Every so often, during this time when we are not able to gather in person, we want to share the work of some of our favorite artists with you, virtually. We are delighted that our second Featured Artist is our beloved founder and multi-talented musician Steve Eulberg.
About Steve Eulberg
There’s not enough room on this page, or any page really, to talk about all of the qualities that make Steve Eulberg one of the most beloved and admired artists among Colorado Dulcimer Festival folks. For starters, he actually FOUNDED the Festival in 2004, and shepherded it through its early years. CDF insiders like to say that if Lin-Manual Miranda had written a hip-hop musical about the Festival, he’d have had to call it “Eulberg.” He’s also a rousing performer, a songwriter whose songs can make a room full of people laugh, cheer, and cry (to the point that we try to remember to bring Kleenex to his concerts), a gifted teacher with the patience of Job, a scholar of dozens of varieties of music (his talks about the blues are not to be missed), a virtuoso player of too many instruments to count (including both kinds of dulcimer), and . . . . you see, I told you. No more room on this page. (But for more visit his website, steveeulberg.com.)
If you enjoy Steve’s lesson and performance here, please consider visiting his donation site and donating a sum that represents the pleasure and learning you had from the experience. These are hard times for musicians; we hope our Featured Artists series will help replace some of the income our favorite artists have lost.

Steve is also offering his friends (4) weekly Advent Evening Play-A-Long Prayer services on the Wednesdays in December. (This is actually the culmination of a class: October was learning the prayer service, November is learning advent tunes and December is the Play-A-Long Service held on Zoom.). People can either join the class and have access to the resources and the archive recordings of all the lessons, or they can just join the services and play along.
The link to the class is here.

Steve adds: “I know that not everyone is religious, and even among those who are, many are unfamiliar with the ancient tradition of the celebration of Advent prior to the Christmas holiday, but Advent is my favorite holiday season and I am always excited to share it with anyone who wishes to know more or participate in an experience of gentle celebration, and preparatory contemplation.”
