Welcome to the CDF’s Featured Artist page. Every so often, during this time when we are not able to gather in person, we want to share the work of some of our favorite artists with you, virtually. We are delighted to feature our third Featured Artist, Tina Bergmann.

About Tina Bergmann

No less a musical saint than Pete Seeger described Tina Bergmann as “the best hammered dulcimer player I’ve heard in my life.” Those of us who have been lucky enough to hear her perform at the CDF, and enjoy her teaching, know what Pete meant. A fourth-generation musician, Tina began playing music at age eight. With her double bassist husband Bryan Thomas, Tina performs Old Time, Celtic, and South American music. She also plays with Apollo’s Fire, the renowned baroque orchestra of Cleveland, and with her stringband Hu$hmoney. Tina’s solo work has been praised for its unusual coupling of energetic rhythm and exquisite musicality. We are delighted to showcase Tina and her music as our first Featured Artist of 2021. If you want more of Tina than the sampling available here, her website is allroadsleadhome.com; we encourage you to visit.
If you enjoy Tina’s lesson and performance here, please consider visiting www.allroadsleadhome.com/shop and donating a sum that represents the pleasure and learning you had from the experience. These are hard times for musicians; we hope our Featured Artists series will help replace some of the income our favorite artists have lost during the pandemic.
